How does rework impact true throughput in aerospace factories?

Rework directly consumes constrained resources and capacity, so apparent throughput metrics in aerospace plants can be misleading. Counting reworked units as “output” hides queueing, schedule slip, and blocked capacity for new work. True throughput requires separating first-pass yield from rework, modeling bottlenecks, and accounting for MRB, inspection, and documentation load.
