Training Record

A training record documents that a worker completed specified training, often including date, scope, version, and status.

A training record is a documented record that shows a person completed a defined training activity. In manufacturing and regulated operations, it commonly links a worker to a procedure, work instruction, role, skill, course, or qualification requirement.

Training records are often maintained in a learning management system, quality management system, MES, HR system, or controlled document workflow. A record may include the trainee, training item, revision or version, completion date, trainer or approver, assessment result, status, and any retraining interval.

A training record should not be confused with the training material itself. It is also different from a training matrix, which summarizes required and completed training across roles or personnel. A training record can support traceability and audit evidence, but it does not by itself prove practical competence unless the process includes an assessment, observation, or qualification step.
