Digital work instructions are generally acceptable to aviation regulators if they are controlled like any other technical document: proper approvals, change control, traceability, training records, and reliable access on the shop floor. Acceptance depends on your specific authority, approvals, validation, and how well the system coexists with existing QMS, MES, and maintenance systems.

You do not need a modern ERP or MES to start using digital work instructions. Many regulated plants begin in isolation from core systems and integrate later. The right approach depends on data quality, IT capacity, validation burden, and how tightly you need WIs tied to work orders, materials, training, and traceability.
