AS9102 documentation is the set of records used to capture and support an aerospace first article inspection.
AS9102 documentation is the set of records, forms, and supporting evidence used to document a First Article Inspection, or FAI, in aerospace manufacturing. It commonly captures how a part, assembly, or product characteristic was verified against applicable engineering and purchase requirements.
In practice, AS9102 documentation often includes the AS9102 FAI forms, ballooned drawings or characteristic lists, dimensional results, material and process references, and related inspection evidence. The documentation is used by manufacturers, suppliers, quality teams, and customers to review whether the first production run has been inspected and recorded in a structured way.
AS9102 documentation should not be confused with the AS9100 quality management system as a whole. AS9102 is specifically associated with first article inspection records, while AS9100 covers broader aerospace quality management requirements. AS9102 documentation also does not by itself prove product acceptance or certification; it is the recorded evidence package used in the FAI process.
