A production dashboard is a visual display of manufacturing status, performance measures, and exceptions.
A production dashboard is a visual display that summarizes manufacturing status, performance measures, and exceptions for a line, cell, work center, plant, or value stream. It commonly presents current or recent production information in a form that operators, supervisors, engineers, and managers can use to understand what is happening in operations.
In manufacturing systems, a production dashboard may show output versus plan, work in process, downtime, scrap or rework, schedule adherence, OEE-related measures, quality holds, bottlenecks, or open actions. The data may come from MES, ERP, SCADA, historians, quality systems, manual entries, or integrated shop-floor applications.
A production dashboard is usually a reporting or visualization layer, not the same thing as the system of record. It should not be confused with an MES, ERP, or control system, although it may draw data from those systems. Its usefulness depends on clear metric definitions, current data, and context such as product, order, shift, equipment, and routing.
