There is no single universal document set for every aerospace shipment. The required digital package depends on the customer contract, part criticality, process requirements, export controls, and approved supplier terms. At minimum, suppliers usually need digitally traceable shipment, conformance, and lot or serial identification records, with special-process, test, or deviation evidence when applicable.

The best early candidates are repeatable, document-heavy workflows with clear inputs, approvals, and evidence requirements: FAI preparation, document control, training records, NCR intake, calibration status checks, and audit evidence collection. Start where rules are stable and exceptions are limited. Do not start with highly variable MRB or broad system replacement unless data, validation, and integrations are mature.

An aerospace supplier documentation package should include the exact records required by the drawing, PO, contract, and customer flow-downs, plus enough traceability to link material, process, inspection, and shipment evidence to the delivered lot or serial number. The required contents vary by part criticality, customer, and process controls, so a generic package is not reliable.

Executives should review a small set of governance metrics that show whether decisions, data, changes, and exceptions are controlled in practice, not just documented. The right set depends on process maturity and system landscape, but it should cover change control, data quality, workflow timeliness, auditability, integration health, and unresolved risk across plants and systems.
