Qualification status is the current indication that a person or resource meets defined prerequisites for work.
Qualification status is the current indication that a person, resource, process, or supplier meets defined prerequisites for a specific activity. In manufacturing, the term most often refers to whether an operator or technician is authorized, trained, or otherwise eligible to perform controlled work.
Qualification status is commonly used in MES, QMS, LMS, and workforce management workflows. It may be checked when work is assigned, when an operation starts, at signoff, or after relevant changes to a process, document, role, or training requirement. Typical statuses include qualified, not qualified, expired, pending, or task-specific authorization.
Qualification status should not be confused with the underlying evidence. A training record, skills matrix entry, assessment result, or approval may support the status, but the status is the operational decision point used by systems and supervisors to determine whether work may proceed under defined rules.
